Power of a Recommendation

We all know that our friends and peer’s opinion about us makes a big difference in how stranger view us or deal with us.  The more friends we have the better impression other form about us.  This also has a direct effect on our dealings with people.  Especially in the time of need!  If your friends have a good opinion about you from their experience in dealing with you, you may be able to get through the tough times easily as someone will lend a helping hand.  People like to help those who they know directly or through close circle of friends.  Thus it is very important that you are able to get a good reference or recommendation from your friends as this is the cheapest insurance against hard times!  The more people can “Vouch” for you the better chance of you getting a break! 

We have built a very powerful “Vouch” tool as part of the Wish Bazaar platform.  You can get very detailed recommendation from your friends, family or anyone who knows you.  These vouches are a valuable asset!  Other users of Wish Bazaar wanting to extend a helping hand will feel more comfortable if they can read your vouches and form a positive opinion about you.

The Power of One Individual to Make a Difference

This past weekend I started to read the book on Grameen Bank by Mohammed Yunus who won the Nobel Prize for his concept of micro lending that he has established in Bangladesh.  The concept is that by making small loans usually less than $100 to mostly women in Bangladesh and now many other places Grameen Bank enables these women and families to establish businesses that can help them get their families out of poverty.  The women are not given the money.  They are given a loan and asked to pay it back.  The amazing thing is that these loans are repayed at a rate over 98%!  Truly amazing --

Yunus found a very successful way to lend to the poor a group that no one else would touch.  This is a great example of how the power and will of one person can change the world.
